Spencer Donato。
My brother’s best friend。

My dirty little secret。

We fell for each other at Lancaster Prep。 Sneaking around。 Not wanting anyone to find out。 He was my first love, my protector, my knight in shining armor。 We were made for each other, and I truly believed he was my forever。

But then I did the unthinkable, and betrayed him in the worst possible way。 I thought I lost him for good…

Until I saw him at my brother’s wedding。 Now he’s older。 Crueler。 Unbearably handsome。 We’re drawn to each other still, but will Spencer be there for me when I need him the most? Or did I ruin us once again?

This didn't really do it for me。 Maybe it's because I haven't read the rest of Lancaster Prep, or really a MM book in quite some time, but this was just flat。 I didn't hate it, but I didn't really like it either。 Sylvie has finally broken away from her toxic mother (toxic barley even covers how awful that woman was) and is finally living life for herself and her wants and needs。 When she sees Spencer, it's like all the feelings she's kept rel repressed so she could survive come roaring back。 But This didn't really do it for me。 Maybe it's because I haven't read the rest of Lancaster Prep, or really a MM book in quite some time, but this was just flat。 I didn't hate it, but I didn't really like it either。 Sylvie has finally broken away from her toxic mother (toxic barley even covers how awful that woman was) and is finally living life for herself and her wants and needs。 When she sees Spencer, it's like all the feelings she's kept rel repressed so she could survive come roaring back。 But what kind of future can they have? And will Spencer ever be able to forgive her?I liked Spencer, but for some reason I never really connected with him。 I felt his obsession for Sylvie run deep, but that was about it。 I felt their journey back together was way too short, and like everything was forgiven in the blink of an eye。 Idk, Sylvie definitely deserves all the happiness with what she's been through, but so much was swept under the rug and ignored。 Plus I didn't like the resolution with her mother at all。Maybe it's just me, but I had really high expectations for this book that just weren't met。 **I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions** 。。。more

This is the most confusing book I've tried to read this year。 Sylvie is portrayed with the mindset of a 10 year old girl。 And not skilfully so。 This author is a total "No" for me。 This is the most confusing book I've tried to read this year。 Sylvie is portrayed with the mindset of a 10 year old girl。 And not skilfully so。 This author is a total "No" for me。 。。。more

this was definitely different than the first two but i understand why it was set when they were a little older。 i loved that they were able to put aside their hurt。 their love was strong enough to span years。 the best part is knowing they were in love with each other when they were 14/15。

**I received a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest voluntary review。 All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source。**I was really excited to get Sylvie's story。 I always enjoy a good redemption story and I was eager to get inside the head of the complex creature we met in Things I Wanted to Say, But Never Did。 I honestly don't remember if Spencer was mentioned much in that book because I was totally consumed with Whit and Summer's angsty love, but I do remember finishing **I received a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest voluntary review。 All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source。**I was really excited to get Sylvie's story。 I always enjoy a good redemption story and I was eager to get inside the head of the complex creature we met in Things I Wanted to Say, But Never Did。 I honestly don't remember if Spencer was mentioned much in that book because I was totally consumed with Whit and Summer's angsty love, but I do remember finishing it and wanting Sylvie's story one day。This is a different book than that one。 I missed the angst though there is plenty of steam between the two leads。 I just craved a little more drama to their second chance romance。 While I always enjoy romances where the characters actually chat about their issues, everything here just felt too easy。 Perhaps I put this expectation of their romance being a little more forbidden than it actually is given the fact that Spencer is Sylvie's brother's best friend? Regardless, they have great chemistry and I love Spencer's ability to see through the façade that is Sylvie Lancaster。To me, this book is Sylvie's redemption story and in that way, it definitely succeeds。 It was great to understand her character and her motives。 And it was also great to watch her grow and become her own person as she learned from her past。I also think the dramatic plot line was a little lopsided? At first I enjoyed the mystery of trying to figure out what happened to Sylvie's husband but once that was solved, the storyline felt a little stagnant until the very end。 I just needed a little more to keep things moving。 It wasn't nearly as addicting to read as Whit's book though I think fans will still enjoy this one! Wow, I did not know what to expect from Sylvie and Spencer's story but it's beyond what I imagined。 I enjoyed it even though it was messy and so much heartbreak。 But that's what makes the story filled with so much angst and all the feels。 Their story is just so much more and so unique than the previous ones。 Wow, I did not know what to expect from Sylvie and Spencer's story but it's beyond what I imagined。 I enjoyed it even though it was messy and so much heartbreak。 But that's what makes the story filled with so much angst and all the feels。 Their story is just so much more and so unique than the previous ones。 。。。more

Spence and Sylvie are so utterly amazing! Sylvie was given the chance in Promises We Meant To Keep, to have her redeeming moment and explanation as to her antics in Things I Wanted To Say。 This book was ::chef’s kiss:: perfection! I loved the insight into Whit and Summer’s life now and continued mystery surrounding Carolina。 I hope she gets her book! And Spence? Oh man is he the ultimate supportive and solid man that Syl needs! Swoooooonnnnn! Amazing job Monica!

I was so sad when this book ended。 I wasn't sure if my opinion on Sylvie would be able to be changed after how she treated Summer, but OMG。。 I adore her!! Summer was the product of an abusive and manipulative mother hence the reason for some of her behaviors。 The one thing Sylvie wanted was Spencer and her mother managed to manipulate that as well。Spencer's love for Sylvie shines brite leaving no room for questioning how much he adores her。。 he proves time and time again that she's it for him。 H I was so sad when this book ended。 I wasn't sure if my opinion on Sylvie would be able to be changed after how she treated Summer, but OMG。。 I adore her!! My heart y’all! Her character was complex and intriguing。 I loved her growth, her journey from this young and controlled girl to a woman coming into her own and learning to stand strong for herself。 Spencer Donato is definitely no longer the boy whose heart Sylvie shattered with her betrayal and then left behind。 He is older, stronger, and can’t help but be protective of Sylvie。 But he is still angry over what she did。 Will he ever forgive her so they can finally be together once and for all? I was just so connected to these two, everything about their back story in the past to how it led to who they are as adults。 How they heal together as a couple and how they help each other to move forward from the past that broke them。 Spencer and Sylvie are just so dynamic together。 They have this explosive, undeniable chemistry and connection whenever they are near each other, even in moments of frustration with each other。 My Cr8zysockbookblock Wrap Up⭐️Star Rating~⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️~FOUR! This story has the perfect blend of explosively steamy moments but also these heartfelt sweet and tender moments too。 Their story is this undeniably fated soulmate, first love is my forever love but something goes terribly awry vibe。 Boy do they have a rocky road of ups and downs to try to get to a HEA。 Great cast of secondary characters and definitely some villains we despise。 We get little treats of Lancaster’s we love making appearances throughout the book。 It sure was awesome to catch in with them。 ⚠️TRIGGERS~This book has some content that could be disturbing to some readers。 Elements of childhood trauma。 If you would like more specific information feel free to PM me for more specific details。 🌶HEAT~🌶🌶🌶 Delicious。 With some steam and spice just like I like! 🥰 HEA/CLIFFY🧗‍♀️~ No Cliffy。 HEA for all。 Blog|Facebook|Instagram|Goodreads|BookBub|Amazon 。。。more

4。25 ⭐3 🌶I enjoyed my time reading Sylvie and Spencers love story! As a first time reader of the Lancaster Prep series, I will say you should read the other books first, because I feel like I would have really appreciated the growth that both characters achieved if I had known where they started from。 These two were 🔥 together! I would’ve liked to have seen more groveling before they got together, but they just fit so well。 This was my first book by Monica Murphy, and her writing sucked me in!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review。I am a huge fan of this author。 I love the way she writes NA romance, the drama—everything。 I was really excited to get to Sylvie’s book。Sylvie’s character isn’t an easy one。 I feel like it’s easy to dislike her。 She’s been through a lot, had a traumatic childhood。 However, sometimes when she would make her decisions I just wanted to shake her。 I really enjoyed Spencer’s character。 He wasn’t what I expected。 He had this more gentle personality, I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review。I am a huge fan of this author。 I love the way she writes NA romance, the drama—everything。 I was really excited to get to Sylvie’s book。Sylvie’s character isn’t an easy one。 I feel like it’s easy to dislike her。 She’s been through a lot, had a traumatic childhood。 However, sometimes when she would make her decisions I just wanted to shake her。 I really enjoyed Spencer’s character。 He wasn’t what I expected。 He had this more gentle personality, and even though his and Sylvie’s relationship was a mess, he kept coming back。I really liked this book and I’m so happy we got their story! 。。。more

Promises We Meant To Keep by Monica Murphy。 Sylvie has had to deal with a smothering mother and a sickly childhood。 Sylvie has had an issue with her past and if what she thought happened is true。 When Spencer her older brother's bestfriend comes into her life, things changed。 They both share something special。 This story was something else。 Spencer and Sylvie experienced things without taking it to far。 Each comes from to different worlds but at school they are just two teenagers。 Sylvie has a w Promises We Meant To Keep by Monica Murphy。 Sylvie has had to deal with a smothering mother and a sickly childhood。 Sylvie has had an issue with her past and if what she thought happened is true。 When Spencer her older brother's bestfriend comes into her life, things changed。 They both share something special。 This story was something else。 Spencer and Sylvie experienced things without taking it to far。 Each comes from to different worlds but at school they are just two teenagers。 Sylvie has a whole set of issues which has made people in her inner circle question her honesty。 Spencer has a always had a thing for her but when she commits the ultimate betrayal their life takes a bizarre turn。 Boy oh boy Sylvie's mother was a real trip。 Sylvie's life and struggle made for a real page turner。 The ending was definitely something else。 Certainly didn't see that coming。  A really good story。 Can Spencer and Sylvie find their happily ever after after it is all said and done。 4 stars for me。 。。。more

There’s too much history between us。 It’s painful and it’s rough, but it runs deep。 So deep, it’s as if she throbs in my veins。 In my blood。 In the depths of my very soul。 ~Spencer Redemption story done absolutely perfect for Sylvie Lancaster and her story with Spencer Donato。 We first see these two in Sylvie’s older brother Whit’s book Things I Wanted To Say (But Never Did)。 Monica did such a fantastic job with Sylvie’s entire story。 Sylvie was such a spoiled brat in Whit’s story and in Promise There’s too much history between us。 It’s painful and it’s rough, but it runs deep。 So deep, it’s as if she throbs in my veins。 In my blood。 In the depths of my very soul。 ~Spencer Redemption story done absolutely perfect for Sylvie Lancaster and her story with Spencer Donato。 We first see these two in Sylvie’s older brother Whit’s book Things I Wanted To Say (But Never Did)。 Monica did such a fantastic job with Sylvie’s entire story。 Sylvie was such a spoiled brat in Whit’s story and in Promises We Meant to Keep we find why Sylvie’s was the way she was in her younger years。 Growing up in a un-loving household, constantly being sick and shuffled from doctor to doctor by her controlling mother。 She meets Spencer (Whit’s bff) at thirteen。 From there they both have an on again, off again secret relationship for many years。 After a few years apart, Spencer & Sylvie come back into each others lives at a wedding。 I loved this book so so much!!! Monica did a tremendous job。 My heart hurt so bad for Sylvie throughout the book and Spencer was just the perfect most loving, caring guy for her。 I hope to one day get this series continued with Carolina “Lina’s” HEA and dove back in the Lancaster world。 。。。more
